We are thrilled to announce the selection of the Equal Justice Works Veterans Legal Corps! As you may know, Washington University in St. Louis School of Law has 4 students enrolled in this program this year and each will receive a $1,200 educational award for their service:
Jesse Raymond, Bay Area Legal Aid
Raymond Myers, Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation
Chloee Puckett, Ring the Bell Foundation
Drew Schendt, Unemployment Action Center
These students join over 100 other public interest law students in to provide legal services that enable low-income and homeless veterans and their families to rebuild their lives. They are working at over 60 different host organizations across 28 states. There is no single-issue area that our law students are working in the veteran community address to meet the needs of these individuals—they serve the veteran community by preparing, submitting, and winning disability benefit cases; reducing fines and debts, etc. Click here for our full press release.
