WHAT’S OPEN
The final formal OCI session, OCI 2 is open for bidding and will close on Sunday, July 16th at 11:59pm CT. If you are still seeking (have not accepted an offer), you should take a look at the employers and bid on any, or all opportunities; you can always withdraw from OCI if you accept an offer after bidding closes. Check the session often, as new employers could be added.
WHAT’S CLOSED
By now, you may have bid in 3 OCI sessions (Early OCI, OCI 1 and MCGC), as well as submitted applications in a few summer job fairs. All of these sessions and programs are now closed. Interview invitations, callbacks and offers will soon be rolling in! Don’t forget to reach out to the Career Center if you need help with deciding on offers, or just want to talk out your options with someone. We want to hear from you and also celebrate.
WHAT’S NEXT
Watch your emails closely!
For MCGC, interview invitations will begin on Monday, July 10th. Things move pretty fast from there. You will only have until Tuesday, July 11 to accept or decline your interview. If you are declining an interview, you must do so by replying to the email notification sent. If you are selected as an alternate, you will be able to see this when logging into MCGC’s Symplicity on Monday, July 10th. Alternates will only be contacted by email when a spot opens up on an interview schedule.
For OCI 1, Employers have until July 12th to return their pre-select/alternate selections. As selections come in, students will be notified and employers will be listed on the homepage of Symplicity, if their list has been returned.
When accepting interviews, be mindful of timelines if you have completed callbacks and/or have received offers with deadlines. Callback notifications from the previously mentioned programs may take up to 2 weeks. If you have another offer deadline, here is what you should do:
- Discuss your options with the Career Center. Options may include asking for an extension on your deadline, this is not a guarantee. Employers are not obligated to extend the deadline to accept.
- If you have an offer and receive interview invitations, you should only accept interviews from employers that YOU KNOW you would accept an offer from over the offer you currently hold.
- If you are holding offers, please be mindful of the recruiting process and hold no more than 2 offers, release the others. Collecting offers is not a game to play and is prohibited.
