Do you enjoy talking to propspective students about law school? Are you interested in increasing diversity in the legal profession? Do you have 1 hour to spare on Friday, April 13th to share your experiences and read a short story with a Bryan Hill Elementary student?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, sign-up here to volunteer at the Black Girl Magic v. Black Boy Joy Reading Workshop on April 13, 2018, from 9:30-10:30 AM, 10:30-11:30 AM, or 1-2 PM. The purpose of this event is to encourage diverse, second grade students to continue reading in order to reach their reading proficient goals, educate students about the journey to becoming a lawyer, and empower students by giving them an opportunity to discuss the changes they would like to see within their school and/or local community. Our reading selection for this event will be Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio and If I Ran for President by Catherine Stier.
No experience working with students is necessary. Everyone is welcome to attend, but please sign-up in advance. Link: https://goo.gl/forms/YhJ8HrN4qvYW6uJ33.
