The U.S. Tax Court will host Law Clerk 2019 Interview Day on September 6. We invite you to notify your students about this exciting opportunity, and ask that you provide them with the following information:
- Application Submission – Students interested in submitting applications should do so via the Court’s website – www.ustaxcourt.gov. The application portal will be open on August 1 and close August 7. Applicants should first select the Employment Tab and then the Law Clerk Program to see the list of Judges participating in Interview Day. Candidates may submit application packets to one or more participating Judges.
- Application Materials – All students are asked to provide a cover letter, resume, writing sample of no longer than 10 pages, and J.D. and LL.M. (if applicable) transcripts. Letters of reference also may be provided, but are not required.
- Interviewee Selection – Each participating Chambers will contact applicants they are interested in interviewing. Interviews will be scheduled for September 6. Note: Chambers may make independent arrangements for interviews.
- Onsite Coordination – On September 6, a representative from the Office of Human Resources will provide onsite coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service, greet applicants, and will escort applicants to a staging room where interviewees can wait between interviews.
