The Tennessee Justice Center is seeking a one-year fellow to join their team beginning in fall 2019.  The Tennessee Justice Center in Nashville has a long tradition of struggle to advance social justice, whether abolition or the labor movement, women’s suffrage or Civil Rights. TJC works with others to continue that tradition by confronting the many urgent challenges affecting Tennesseans’ quality of life and quality of justice.  Over two decades, TJC has won landmark decisions and billions of dollars in health care and public benefits for vulnerable Tennessee families.

The Warfield Fellowship offers a one-year, renewable stipend to support the fellow’s work at the Tennessee Justice Center. The fellow handles cases from across Tennessee from TJC’s office in Nashville.  The fellowship is open to applicants who are admitted to the Tennessee bar or who, if awarded a fellowship, agree to sit for the July 2019 Tennessee bar exam. The deadline for applications is Monday, October 22, 2018.  Applicants will be notified of a decision by December 10, 2019.  The fellowship offers health insurance benefits, accrued sick leave and vacation, and paid holidays.  TJC is committed to diversity and encourages people of all backgrounds to apply.
