Are you ready? The DOJ opens its paid 2L summer application and 3L post-grad application in less than two weeks! For rising 2Ls, the DOJ offers a 2024 paid, summer internship with various participating components, including antitrust, criminal, civil and the Bureau of Prisons. For rising 3Ls, the DOJ also seeks applicants for various participating components with some variation from the SLIP components, and with some locations outside of D.C. The post-grad Honors positions are for differing terms after graduation, but they are usually one to two years. The application for 2Ls through the Summer Law Internship Program (SLIP) and for 3Ls through the Honors Program are similar, including two, personal essays and an online application.

The DOJ starts accepting applications on July 31st and the deadline is September 5th at 11 PM CST. For more information, please see Legal Careers | Department of Justice and make an appointment with Hilary Von Rohr through Symplicity. She can share tips on how to make your application stand out and can review your essays before submission. The portal opens soon and now is a fantastic time to get started on your application!
