The deadline for Spring 2018 Semester Law Internship applications is fast approaching. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 pm (EST) on November 15, 2018. Please share this with your students.
The semester internship is a way for law students to gain firsthand exposure to public sector litigation. Students work closely with Assistant District Attorneys in the investigation, preparation, and prosecution of criminal cases in Manhattan. Depending on the assignment, students will help prosecutors prepare for hearings and trials in street crime cases such as larceny, domestic violence, sex crimes, narcotics, and homicides or assist in the investigation and litigation of white-collar economic cases. We make a significant effort to match the student’s interests with their assignments.
Students will be required to work at least one full day (8 hours) and a half day for a minimum of 12-15 hours and commit a minimum of twelve weeks commitment. Students are required to have taken criminal law and constitutional law before starting the internship and encouraged to take evidence and criminal procedure. All internships are for academic credit.
Students who are interested in applying should submit an application online at https://www.manhattanda.org/semester-law-internship/. The submission deadline is 5:00 PM (EST) on November 15, 2018.
