My goal is always to do something meaningful, and do it with an indelible professional style that cannot be forgotten. Here are some tips from me for your next Zoom Video Communications, Skype or Google Hangouts call.

Be polished. Do it perfectly, or not at all. Be consistently impeccable. The details speak volumes about your style. Aesthetics communicate for you, too.

Be focused. Responding to another email? We can see you. Checking your cell phone? We can see you doing that too. Eliminate distractions, be present, look directly into the camera and focus on the meeting.

Be purposeful. Only open your mouth when you can add something to the conversation, or learn. Time is precious.

Be personable. I believe the relationships I enjoy, cultivate and steward in my professional capacity are always more authentic and productive when I am exactly who I am.

Be positive. Articulate the good stuff. Praise, repeat, and look for more. Face the challenges with a positive outlook and offer those around you insights and advice and encouragement.
