Molina Immigration Law, LLC seeks an intellectually-curious and culturally-sensitive individual to work as a Law Clerk in our Olivette, MO office.  The position is approximately 10 hours per week during the school year and can be more during the summer. Initial salary is $15 per hour.

Our firm helps immigrants and their families navigate the immigration laws.  Our work mainly consists of keeping families together and defending against deportation for people who fear persecution in their home countries.  If you are interested in working with a diverse population and interacting with people from all over the world, are intellectually curious, enthusiastic, welcoming, organized, and have strong problem-solving skills, this might be the right fit for you.

Because much of our client base is Spanish-speaking and you will be responsible for communicating with clients on your assigned cases, fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred. If you can speak a third language, that’s great!

Job duties include:

  • Communicating with clients regarding necessary documents in their cases 
  • Assisting clients to obtain their personal documents from schools, doctors, etc. for waivers and deportation defense
  • Obtaining police reports and court records
  • Working on immigration forms and preparing supporting documentation for applications
  • Investigation and preparation of supporting evidence for deportation defense 
  • Legal research and writing relating to deportation defense
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Seeking 1L – 3L

  • Be willing to ask questions when you aren’t sure how to do something
  • Have the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks
  • Be able to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Be able to communicate complex ideas in professional, but simple words
  • Have a passion for excellence

Strongly preferred:

  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand Spanish at a high school-level
