PROGRAM AWARD
Paid summer associate position with Knobbe
Martens during the summer of 2023.
Scholarship grant up to $25,000*.
ELIGIBILTY
Be enrolled in good standing as second-year law
students at an ABA accredited law school in the
J.D. class of 2024.
Demonstrate academic and professional
achievement, as well as excellent oral and written
communication skills.
Contribute to enhancing diversity at the firm and in
the legal community.
Belong to a group that historically has been
underrepresented in the legal profession.
Be authorized to work in the United States.
A technical/science degree (for litigation and patent
prosecution) is preferred.
o For biology and biotechnology backgrounds, a Ph.D. is preferred.
Have a sincere interest in joining Knobbe Martens
after graduation.
APPLICATION PROCESS & DEADLINES
Applications for the 2023 2L Diversity Scholarship will be accepted through September 30, 2022. Candidates must submit a completed application form; resume; undergraduate, graduate, and law school transcripts (official transcripts preferred; if first semester grades are not available, submit them as soon as possible); and a one-page personal statement describing how the candidate’s diversity will contribute to Knobbe Martens and to the legal profession.
SUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM
• Recipients will be offered a paid summer associate 2L position for the summer of 2023.
• The Knobbe Martens Summer Associate Program runs from mid-May through July. Students will identify their office preference during the application process.
• Recipients must start with Knobbe Martens at the
beginning of the summer program and stay for at least eight weeks.
SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS
• Upon joining the 2L Summer Associate Program,
recipients will receive a grant of $10,000.
• Knobbe Martens will award an additional $15,000 to
recipients who also receive and accept an associate offer with the firm after completing the 2L Summer Associate Program with Knobbe Martens.
