About the Speakers:

Honorable Katherine M. Fowler, 22nd Judicial Circuit, St. Louis –  Judge Fowler was appointed a Circuit Court Judge in the 22nd Judicial Circuit in October 2017.  Prior to that, she was an Officer with Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. specializing in the defense of complex litigation, including pharmaceutical litigation, medical malpractice, product liability defense, environmental and class action litigation.  She also served as Founder and Director of the Legal Clinic for Let’s Start, a non-profit organization that aims to break the cycle of incarceration by working with formerly incarcerated women and their children.

Patti Hageman, Director, Legal Services of Missouri – Patti Hageman is the Director of the Volunteer Lawyers Program for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, which provides free civil legal assistance to low-income residents in the St. Louis Region. Previously, Patti served for 13 years as the City Counselor for the City of St. Louis in the administration of Mayor Francis G. Slay as well as Interim Chief of Staff. She also has worked in the private sector.  Patti holds a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and a B.S. in Business Management from Bradley University.

Patti has been involved in the St. Louis community for over 25 years.  Patti has served in many board and leadership roles, and currently sits on the Missouri Bar Board of Governors.  Patti also currently serves as a co-chair of the Pro Bono Committee for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL).  She is a Past-President of the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis.

Lisa Moore, Partner & President, Paule, Camazine & Blumenthal, P.C. –   Lisa G. Moore was working full time in business management while she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Columbia College in 1994. When she entered law school in 1995, she began her legal career as a law clerk with Paule, Camazine and Blumenthal, P.C. and in 1998 she received her law degree from St. Louis University School of Law. Ms. Moore’s natural leadership skills are evident in both her legal career and business career prior to law school.

Listed as a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers-Rising Star in 2008;  Who’s Who in Law in 2015; Law Firm Leader of the Year,  Missouri Lawyers Weekly 2017; Volunteer Lawyer of the Month, BAMSL 2017; Best Lawyers in America in 2015, 2016 and 2017; and Lawyer of the Year in Family Law 2017, Ms. Moore is well known for her superior skills and knowledge when dealing with complex child custody and child support cases.

Ms. Moore maximizes every possible advantage for her client in order to accomplish their goals whether in settlement negotiations or at trial. She is focused and prepared and a zealous advocate for her clients, both in and out of the courtroom.

Ms. Moore’s educational background in psychology, along with her direct and strong personality, makes her a tireless and knowledgeable advocate for her clients who are often overwhelmed dealing with either their own, or a spouse’s, issues with physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, alienation, neglect, mental illness or personality disorders, drugs or alcohol abuse or addiction and gambling or sex addiction.

Ms. Moore is sought after to speak and write by numerous organizations and she has authored various articles relative to family law issues, especially in child custody issues.

In addition to her passion for working with families dealing with difficult and emotional issues, Ms. Moore has been a very active member of numerous professional organizations and has served in numerous leadership roles for the American Bar Association, St. Louis Bar Foundation, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and St. Louis County Bar Association.

Kathi Smith, Sr. Director – Client Accounting, Littler Mendelson PC

Kathi Smith is the Sr. Director of Client Accounting at Littler Mendelson PC, a law firm that provides employment and labor law solutions worldwide.  She is a strategic and influential finance and administrative management professional with 20 years’ experience in the legal industry.  Kathi has led numerous organizational initiatives involving mergers and financial system integrations, has proven achievements in leveraging technology to improve accuracy, efficiency & service, and continuous to provide innovative and strategic support in an increasingly competitive legal market.  Kathi acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Administration, and has been a member of ALA since 2001.

Julie Logan, Director, Human Resources, Newmeyer & Dillion LLP – Julie Logan, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is the Director of Human Resources at Newmeyer & Dillion, LLP, a firm based in Newport Beach, California, and named one of the Best Places to Work in Orange County for the last seven years.  With more than 30 years’ experience in the legal industry, Julie is a strategic and influential human resource professional with proven achievements in leading organizational initiatives, innovation, process improvement, and comprehensive human resource programs. Julie has been a member of ALA since 1998 and has served in numerous leadership positions on the local, regional and international levels, most recently completing her three-year term as At-Large Director on the ALA Board of Directors.  Julie acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and holds two human resource professional certifications.

Nichole Cornwell, Senior Office Administrator, Husch Blackwell –  Nichole Cornwell is currently Senior Office Administrator in the St. Louis office of Husch Blackwell, LLP and has management responsibility over several additional offices.  Previously held positions include Paralegal and Paralegal Manager at Cordell & Cordell, P.C.  Nichole has 14 years-experience in the legal industry with proven achievements in leading Firmwide initiatives, including being an instrumental member of Husch Blackwell’s task force assigned to successfully implement a new administrative support structure.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from Maryville University and has served in multiple leadership positions in the local ALA Gateway Chapter, most recently as President of the Board.

Josef S. Glynias, Partner, Husch Blackwell – Josef (Joe) Glynias is a Labor & Employment partner in the Food & Agribusiness Strategic Business Unit at Husch Blackwell.  Throughout his career, Joe has represented employers in all areas involving employer/employee relations, with a heavy emphasis on issues impacting clients that process, package, distribute and serve food. Joe has extensive experience in class action claims against employers and concentrates his practice on wage and hour collective/class actions under state and federal law.

Joe counsels clients on the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) and discrimination laws. His strategic insights guide employers in Department of Labor actions, such as audits involving tipped food-service employees and laborers in the grain milling industry. In traditional labor cases, Joe regularly advises employers in grievance arbitrations and actions before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), most of which have come in the food-processing industry. He represents clients in noncompetition and nonsolicitation matters and related injunction litigation and has obtained favorable decisions before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and other federal and state administrative agencies nationwide.

Nancy Hopp, CSR IL, RDR, CRR, CMRS, FAPR, President, Alaris Litigation Services – A court reporter for 25 years, Nancy then spent 10 years in the litigation support software industry, serving as a professional development associate and presenting litigation-related technology seminars to legal professionals, before joining Alaris in 2012 in a management capacity.  Throughout her career, she has been intimately involved in both the realtime technology and litigation support worlds, bringing a unique perspective to her seminars.  She has presented this CLE content to numerous law firms and legal organizations, including the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis and the University of Missouri Law School.
