Attorney General Fellowship Program—Recruitment for the 2023 Cohort of Fellows:
• This is a two-year, post-graduation, entry-level placement for six (6) law graduates.
• Applications are being accepted online from August 15 through September 30 with offers extended in early December. The 2023 Fellows will begin their placements in September 2023 and end in August 2025.
• Law students who will complete their final year of law school during the 2022-23 academic year and will graduate by June 2023 are eligible to apply.
• Fellows will receive an annual salary of $76,500 plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes workplace flexibilities such as telecommuting and alternative work schedules.
• Based upon the needs of the OAG and the Fellows’ stated location preferences, Fellows will be placed in a legal bureau or regional office to work as junior attorneys. For the 2023 cohort, placements are available in New York City, Albany and Buffalo.
• To support the professional development of our Fellows, the office has hired a Program Coordinator who is also an experienced OAG attorney. The Program Coordinator’s career at the OAG spans three decades and includes more than 20 years of experience supervising and mentoring students and law graduates. The office is committed to ensuring our Fellows receive the training, supervision and mentorship needed to be successful during their placements and in their careers.
