If your summer plan includes working in the public sector, for a judge, non-profit organization or government office you are eligible for WashULaw’s Summer Public Interest Funding Program.
Eligibility:
- All currently enrolled 1Ls in good standing are eligible.
- Internship focus must be legally oriented.
- Qualifying employers are non-profit organizations, governmental offices, or judges (the funding does not cover work on political campaigns, work at for-profit entities, or faculty research).
- Students can receive a maximum of $3,000 for the summer.
- You can apply for a partial summer.
- You can qualify even if you are receiving other outside funding (fellowships/scholarships).
There is no penalty for opting in and withdrawing from the process at a later time.
