Since graduation in 2010, WashU Law alum, Jason Batts, has gained significant experience as a judge advocate, county prosecutor, and owner of his own firm. While maintaining his own law practice, he advised the county government and oversaw all criminal prosecutions as the elected county prosecutor for Hickman County, Kentucky. In addition to his civilian positions, since 2012 he has served as a judge advocate in the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserve. His focus in the military has been on criminal law and national-security law and his deployments have included serving as a national security law attorney on the U.S.-Mexico border and being sent as part of a rapid response force to New Orleans at the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. He currently serves as the Deputy Judge Advocate at Scott Air Force Base near St. Louis.
