Soon, the school year will be over, and you’ll be embarking on your first professional legal experience. That’s exciting! In this session, you’ll learn how to adapt what you’ve learned in legal writing to your summer legal job. We’ll discuss how you can understand your audience, reach a well-reasoned conclusion, communicate effectively with assigning lawyers, and write concisely, clearly, and correctly.
Julie Schrager is Faegre Drinker’s legal writing coach and advisor and has been working with summer associates and newer lawyers for almost fifteen years. Before that, she practiced law at a large D.C. law firm and at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston and taught legal writing at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
