WashULaw’s Summer Public Interest Funding Program – Class of 2020
If your summer plan includes an internship with a judge, a non-profit organization, or a government office, read on for information about WashULaw’s Summer Public Interest Funding Program!
The nuts and bolts:
- All currently enrolled 1Ls in good standing are eligible.
- Qualifying employers are non-profit organizations, governmental offices, or judges (the funding does not cover work on political campaigns, work at for-profit entities, or faculty research).
- The internship focus must be legally oriented.
- Students can receive a maximum of $3,000 for the summer.
- You can apply for a partial summer.
- You can qualify even if the position is paid or you are receiving other funding.
- The 1L summer job can be a launching pad for your 2L summer – CCD will put together a comprehensive and individualized plan with you to maximize your internship and lay the foundation for an outstanding 2L summer position.
Come to an information session on Wednesday, January 31st from 12:00 – 1:00 pm (AB 309) to learn more about the program. Consider opting in even if you haven’t accepted a summer internship yet. There’s no penalty for withdrawing later if your plans change. Apply here.
