The State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor is a judicial agency of state government, statutorily responsible for prosecuting intermediate appeals on behalf of the 101 State’s Attorneys of Illinois outside of the First Judicial District (Cook County). Our Agency attorneys develop great appellate expertise. Many stay with the Agency their entire legal career, more than 30 years; while others apply their knowledge to go on to coveted clerkships with Illinois Appellate Courts and even the Supreme Court of Illinois.
