Next Wednesday, November 7, the Women of Color Law Society (WCLS) and Husch Blackwell will be co-sponsoring a panel for diverse law students, in coordination with the Center for Career Development: “The Game Within the Game: Taking Ownership of Your Career as a Diverse Law Student.”
The Panel will be from 12:15PM – 1PM in Room ABH309 . Lunch will be provided.
The Panel is designed to add to students’ understanding of what it takes to be a successful law student and to ultimately build a successful career. We hope to discuss personal experiences that have enabled us to successfully take control of our careers, both beyond and during law school. Our goal is to help diverse students who may not enter law school with the “inside scoop” prepare for what lies ahead. The Panel is best-suited for 1Ls.
The Panel will be moderated by Sandy Oh, an associate in the firm’s Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation group. Sandy joined Husch Blackwell after graduating from Washington University School of Law. Prior to law school, Sandy earned a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley, where she also studied as an undergraduate. After earning her Ph.D., Sandy was an assistant professor of English at the University of Miami and a lecturer in Asian-American Studies at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
