The Delaware Minority Job Fair Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association invites students at your law school to apply for an invitation to participate in the 2018 Delaware Minority Job Fair for Second- and Third-Year Law Students, to be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Widener University Delaware Law School (Wilmington, Delaware campus).  The Job Fair was founded by a consortium of Delaware law firm, corporate, and public sector/interest legal employers interested in promoting diversity and inclusion in the Delaware bar by encouraging interested second- and third-year law students to explore summer and full-time opportunities to work in Delaware. This year there are 22 Delaware Law Firms interviewing students.  This is an invitation-only event, and is limited to students who will be in their second or third year of law school (or their extended division equivalent) during the 2018-19 academic year.  While diverse law students are the focus of this event, the Job Fair accepts applications from all interested students.

The Job Fair begins each year with a networking breakfast, continues with brief remarks about Delaware’s legal community and practice, and concludes after a half-day of interviews.  Interviewing employers, Job Fair sponsors, and distinguished members of the Delaware bench and bar attend the networking breakfast to mingle and share information with the invited students.  The Job Fair differs from many other job fairs in that students must be invited to attend rather than simply registering and attending.  In return, invited students receive considerably more individualized attention than is possible at most larger job fairs.

Students pre-selected by two or more employers will receive an invitation to attend the Job Fair by early July and be asked to accept or decline their interview invitations by mid-July.  Invited students must make their own arrangements to travel to Wilmington, Delaware to attend the Job Fair.  As funds permit, the Job Fair plans to reimburse reasonable, documented student travel expenses.  If sufficient funds are not available to cover all expenses, students will be reimbursed on a percentage basis.
The Job Fair’s Symplicity recruiting site: https://law-dmpd-csm.symplicity.com/students (a partnership site between the Delaware Minority Job Fair and the Philadelphia Area Diversity Job Fair).  The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, June 15, 2018.  Please direct any questions about the Job Fair to the Job Fair Administrator at dmjf@dsba.org or (302) 651-3246.
