COUNTY       OF    COOK

OFFICE     OF   THE    STATE’S     ATTORNEY

State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez remains dedicated in ensuring that the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is as diverse as the communities it serves. One of her priorities, in the interest of seeking justice for the people of Cook County, is to seek out the best legal talent locally, nationally and statewide. The Annual Minority Law Students’ Reception is one of the State’s Attorney’s recruitment programs developed to ensure diversity within the office.

The Annual Minority Law Students’ Reception is an opportunity for law students to meet some of our Assistant State’s Attorneys and hear how they have and are continuing to make a difference within the State’s Attorney’s Office.

On Friday, September 16, 2016, we will be hosting our 12th  Annual Minority Law Students

Reception. The evening will consist of a short program and a networking reception.

This event will be held at the John Marshall Law School, Room 3 East, 315 South Plymouth Court, Chicago, Illinois 60604, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. Students are asked to RSVP for this evening by calling 312.603.1847, or via email at saointerns@cookcountyil.gov., by September 9,  2016.

Please forward this invitation and attached flyer to all minority bar associations at your respective law school. We do realize that this event may be scheduled after the on campus interview-bidding deadline. We make reference to this fact in our letter to the students and stress the importance of meeting that deadline. If we are not participating in your on campus interview program, please advise all interested students to get their application material to us no later than October 1, 2016. I look forward to meeting your students at this event.
