Choate 2L Diversity Fellow – Summer 2024
As part of Choate’s longstanding commitment to diversity in the legal profession, we are excited to offer our 2L Diversity Fellowship. Diversity Fellows will be members of our 2024 summer class.
Fellows Will Receive
- The standard weekly compensation for a summer associate.
- An additional award of $35,000 distributed at various milestones: (1) $5,000 upon acceptance of the fellowship offer; (2)$10,000 after successful completion of the summer program and acceptance of a full time offer; (3) $10,000 when starting as an associate; and (4) $10,000 after 12 months as an associate, in addition to standard market bonuses paid as part of our annual review process.
- Mentors who are committed to the fellow’s development and lasting throughout the fellow’s career.
- Apprentice model – which provides all summers the opportunity to shadow senior attorneys and learn about their practice in depth.
- Roundtable meetings with some of Choate’s clients during the summer program to facilitate the development of each fellow’s network of diverse Boston-based attorneys and contacts.
Selection Criteria
This is a merit-based fellowship awarded on a competitive basis. Applicants should be finishing their first year of law school in May Applicants should have a record of: (1) academic and professional achievement; and (2) commitment to promoting diversity.
