What is Quick Conversations? Quick Conversations is the Career Center’s 1L winter networking event. The event is 90-minutes long, and it consists of 9 networking sessions that are each 10-minutes long. Each 10-minute session will be one-on-one with you and the employer. This is a virtual event run through FloRecruit.
What employers are attending? With 72 registered employers, there is something for everyone: public interest, government, in house and law firms | employers from offices across the country. Spend 10 minutes visiting with in house counsel at H1 (a health tech start up) and COFCO (an international food trader). Chat with government attorneys at the DOJ, the USPTO, and the New York County District Attorney. Learn about the work of dedicated public interest attorneys at Mobilization for Justice (a NY based public interest organization), Cohen Milstein (a private public interest law firm), Natural Resources Defense Council, and the ACLU. Network with attorneys at Latham & Watkins, Weil Gotschal, and Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann (a commercial litigation boutique in Dallas). There are just a few of the many employers that are looking forward to speaking with you next Wednesday. Create a schedule that fits your short and long-term goals. What is the deadline? The deadline to register is noon on Tuesday, January 10th
Are these employers recruiting for 1L positions? Some are recruiting 1Ls through OCI and online job postings. Others are eager to meet with you in advance of 2L recruiting (which begins at the end of the spring semester).
