OCI – The On-Campus Interview (OCI) program is an event that occurs at most law schools across the country during the months of August. Legal employers visit law school campuses for the purpose of interviewing second-year and third-year students for summer and permanent legal positions. Bidding is now open for Early Interview Week (Aug. 8 & 9), this is the largest session of on campus recruiting.  Do not miss this opportunity to submit to employers from all over.

Off Campus – In an effort to increase student interview opportunities in particular geographic markets, the CCD organizes off-campus interview programs in conjunction with other law schools, which occur across the country in July & August.  The interviews take place in hotels in several different cities. Bidding is now open for NY, DC, Chicago, Bay Area, New England, Philadelphia, Nashville, Dallas, and Houston. For more information click here.

Job Postings – Some employers prefer that students write them directly rather than have the CCD arrange on-campus interviews or resume collection. These employers may be found in Symplicity under the “Job Postings” tab.

Direct Apply – You are encouraged to send your materials directly to employers you are interested in even if they do not appear in the job postings.  Some employers will opt to interview you prior to any formalized recruiting program.  Take advantage of direct sends early and update your employers when your grades are available.

Job Fairs – Job Fairs are another great way to increase interview opportunities. Some fairs are designed to further a particular goal of diversity and others are practice area specific. Although not comprehensive, click here for a list of current job fairs.

Diversity Scholarships (2L) – Another way employers show commitment to diversity is by offering Diversity Scholarships.  Some scholarships are purely monetary, others have a summer associate positions attached to it.
