This year‘s ABA Representation in Mediation Team tryouts will take place 1pm -5pm CT:
- October 31,
- November 1, and
- November 3
Interested students must email Professor Tokarz (tokarz@wustl.edu) to begin the process.
The 20-minute tryouts will determine which 8 students will be selected for the team, 4 of whom will compete. (These numbers are approximate.) Coaches Jim Reeves and Michael Geigerman will conduct the tryouts.
What does the Team do?
The selected WashULaw team will represent the law school at the ABA Representation in Mediation Regional Competition, which will likely occur in late February 2021 (on Zoom). Competition practice will begin second semester. Practices in the spring are likely to be Tuesday and Thursday mornings from roughly 8am to 11 am CT.
How has the team performed in past years?
The WashULaw team has had outstanding success in this competition, winning the Regional 11 times since 2005 (including the 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2020 competitions), and placing 2nd at Nationals in 2009; 3rd in 2006, 2011, 2016 and 2017; and 5th in 2005.
