The application period for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s (LCLD) 2020 1L Scholars Program is now open. Designed to offer diverse, first-year law students the opportunity to spend a summer working side-by-side with attorneys from LCLD Member organizations, 142 law firms and corporations will be hosting summer internships across the country.

There are a number of internship opportunities that you can view online and apply here.

In addition to a meaningful summer internship, 2020 1L Scholars also have the opportunity to benefit from:

  • Attending the 2020 1L LCLD Scholars Summit in Atlanta, GA, June 2-4, 2020, which helps students build leadership and networking skills.
  • Mock interviews with attorneys from selected LCLD Member law firms.
  • Career-development resources and long-term connections with other 1L Scholars via the exclusive 1L LCLD Scholars LinkedIn group. 1L Scholars will be invited to join the LinkedIn group in spring 2020.
  • Group Mentoring Program (GMP) events during the summer for 1L Scholars to continue to build their network.
