By Invitation Only

At its sixty-sixth session in July 2014, the International Law Commission (ILC) commenced work on the drafting on a Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes Against Humanity.  The Special Rapporteur for the project, Professor Sean D. Murphy, submitted two reports to the International Law Commission (February 2015 and August 2015) outlining the scope of the general project and proposing initial draft articles.  In December 2016, the Harris Institute held a two-day workshop at the Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore, gathering international experts, principally from the Asia-Pacific Region, as well as Members of the Commission and the Crimes Against Humanity Initiative to discuss the Special Rapporteur’s draft Third Report prior to it submission in January 2017.
