International Humanitarian Law Workshop

On April 11, 2019, the Harris Institute and the American Red
Cross hosted an International Humanitarian Law Workshop.
The training was led by Noah O'Conner, Regional Program
Officer, and Molly Kovite, Legal Advisor to the International
Humanitarian Law (IHL) team, and featured lectures and
hands-on exercises that guided participants through an
intensive examination of international humanitarian law, with
a focus on its application to combatants and civilians. Law and
graduate students, alumni, and practitioners from throughout
Missouri and Illinois attended the event.

The ICC Scholars Forum

On June 21-22, 2019, the Harris Institute, in conjunction with Leiden University's Grotius Centre for International Legal
Studies, hosted the third annual ICC Scholars Forum.  Launched in summer 2017 in conjunction with the American Coalition
for the International Criminal Court (AMICC), the ICC Scholars Forum provides academics who work on and teach about the
International Criminal Court the opportunity to discuss their teaching and research. The collaboration with Leiden University
facilitates the dialogue between U.S. and European academics and practitioners, and allows members of the ICC prosecution,
defense, and judges' chambers to enrich the conversation.
